Jeffrey C. Couper is an accomplished healthcare executive with decades of experience in financial leadership, including transformative CFO roles at prominent dental service organizations (DSOs) and healthcare companies. He joined MAX Surgical Specialty Management as Chief Financial Officer in December 2025.

Jeff’s career began after earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Wake Forest University and becoming a Certified Public Accountant. He then spent several years at PwC, leading audits for diverse clients and supporting capital market reform projects in Eastern Europe.

Following his tenure at PwC, Jeff became a co-founder and CFO (also participating in the software architecture) for an ERP solution in the construction industry, Contractor Anywhere.  After a successful sale to Sage, Jeff became CFO for Palmer Johnson Sport Yachts, based in Savannah, Georgia, one of the early clients of Contractor Anywhere.  Subsequently, Jeff transitioned into the healthcare space, becoming the CFO of a small DSO, Howard Dental Group, which he helped grow from three practices to eleven, ultimately resulting in a successful sale to Mortenson.

Since 2012, Jeff has focused his career on DSO and MSO financial management.  Jeff held CFO positions at Children’s Dental Health Associates (later Chord Specialty Dental Partners), Absolute Dental, and Jefferson Dental & Orthodontics, where he managed financial operations, facilitated M&A and integration efforts, resolved revenue cycle management challenges, and consummated a successful exit (Chord).   Jeff’s expertise in mergers & acquisitions, revenue cycle management, and operational efficiency has been instrumental in delivering multimillion-dollar savings, optimizing capital structures, and building high-performing teams across competitive healthcare landscapes.

Outside of work, Jeff shares his time between Jacksonville, Florida, and Savannah, Georgia. He enjoys golf, traveling, diving, spending time with his family and is an avid fan of both the WFU Demon Deacons and Georgia Bulldogs.
