A full-scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon focusing on complex office-based procedures, including laser-assisted dental implant surgery, advanced bone grafting, wisdom tooth extraction, exposures of impacted canines for orthodontic patients, and so much more.
Dr. Jason M. Auerbach is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon certified by both the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. This dual certification – and the expertise it reflects – enables Dr. Jason M. Auerbach to provide patients with the full range of oral and maxillofacial surgery services, including those requiring intravenous sedation or general anesthesia, at either of Riverside Oral Surgery‘s specially equipped and staffed offices. Dr. Jason M. Auerbach’s areas of practice emphasis include dental implants, bone grafting, and wisdom teeth extraction.
Born in New York and raised in the metropolitan area, Dr. Jason M. Auerbach attended New York University’s College of Dentistry, earning his DDS degree and graduating with honors. He then completed the prestigious Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at SUNY-Downstate Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Jason M. Auerbach’s belief in the importance of education and training is evident in his dedication to the residents at Hackensack University Medical Center, where he volunteers his time. Dr. Jason M. Auerbach is also on staff at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ, and Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, NY.
Highly recruited out of training, Dr. Jason M. Auerbach joined a prominent Park Ave practice in midtown Manhattan, where he honed much of his office-based surgical skill. Eventually making the decision to bring his family from New York City to Bergen County to practice in northern New Jersey, Dr. Jason M. Auerbach began to focus on merging exceptional care with the patient experience to form what ultimately would become the basis for Riverside Oral Surgery.
Dr. Jason M. Auerbach founded Riverside Oral Surgery in 2007 and, in so doing, began to realize his vision of providing the optimal patient experience through clinical excellence, compassionate care, and close attention to every detail. Since then, he has been honored regularly by colleagues and patients alike, including through his repeated inclusion in New Jersey magazine’s annual list of Top Dentists and similar recognition from other publications and organizations. The practice’s steady growth has led to change, so four oral and maxillofacial surgeons with specialized interests and expertise now provide care in Riverside Oral Surgery‘s original office in River Edge and now in Westwood. What has not changed, however, and what Dr. Jason M. Auerbach emphasizes will never change, is his commitment – and that of all of his colleagues and team members – to that original, enduring vision of providing uncompromised care in an unparalleled setting.
“I founded Riverside Oral Surgery in 2007 to provide patients with uncompromised care in an unparalleled setting. Our growth over the intervening years is due to every team member’s commitment to meeting that high standard with every patient we are privileged to serve.”
Dr. Jason M. Auerbach, DDS
Letter From the Founder Dr. Jason M. Auerbach
I founded my own practice with one goal….to cultivate what I considered to be the optimal patient experience. My vision became a reality, and in the intervening years, as the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery and my definition of the optimal experience evolved, Riverside Oral Surgery grew to a fourteen-surgeon practice with ten locations serving patients across New Jersey. In the last few years, so much has changed for all of us, and despite the growth we experienced, the cost of doing business grew and became increasingly challenging at the same time.
When I started my practice and for the vast majority of the last 20 years, I never considered partnering with another entity. My partners and I built our team and financed our business the old-fashioned way, by forming relationships with local banks, putting up collateral, and personally guaranteeing every acquisition and build out we did. But like I said…things changed. Competing for quality partnerships and amazing talent became more competitive and everything, including debt, became more expensive, Given my commitment to never sell to a general practice or even multi-specialty-focused DSO, it became evident that the best way to continue to build and practice on my terms was to find the right financial partners who could understand and support an OMS platform as committed to the experience unique to our specialty as I have always been. MAX Surgical Specialty Management was created, and I could not be prouder.
Immediately, we formed a Clinical Advisory Board (CAB) with a strong charter that encourages surgeons to be largely autonomous and independent from the corporate management team that is in place to support and enhance our collective ability to provide outstanding outcomes for our patients. Our CAB oversees all things related to delivery-of-care, identifies and communicates best-practices, embraces the optimal patient experience, and differentiates MAX from every other platform out there.
Our amazing management team supports our vision, which will ensure that the business people can focus on the business, and we, the surgeons, can focus on what matters most – patient care.
We are growing the preeminent surgeon-led, full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgical specialty platform in the Eastern U.S. and are dedicated to building the region’s first OMS-only specialty platform where a premium is placed on surgeon autonomy, independent practice identity, and clinical excellence.
