Dr. Perrino is a Board Certified dual-degree Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon – trained and licensed as both a dentist and medical doctor with additional fellowship training in Craniofacial Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgery. Dr. Perrino practices full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery while maintaining a busy dentoalveolar and dental implant surgery practice.
Prior to joining Riverside Oral Surgery, Dr. Perrino was the Director of Cleft and Pediatric Maxillofacial Surgery at Columbia University Medical Center and was responsible for managing the most complicated patients with a focus on repairing cleft lip and palate, Robin sequence, craniofacial reconstruction, including corrective jaw surgery, treatment of maxillofacial pathology and reconstruction, and pediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery. He now has faculty appointments at Hackensack University Medical Center and Jacobi Medical Center where he continues to employ his specialized skill set and passion for teaching residents.
Dr. Perrino graduated from Columbia University’s College of Dental Medicine at the top of his class and was a member of the National Dental Honor Society, earning over a dozen awards for his scholarship. He completed the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at New York – Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. During his time at Columbia, Dr. Perrino earned his medical degree from Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed a General Surgery Internship at NYPH. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Perrino received additional training as the Pediatric Oral and Craniomaxillofacial Surgery fellow at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh/University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He is the only craniofacial fellowship-trained oral and maxillofacial surgeon in the Northern Jersey and New York City region. He is an active member of multiple national societies where he has been selected for committee positions. He presents and lectures nationally on various topics from medicine, to dental implants and grafting, to cleft, craniofacial and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Perrino volunteers abroad on surgical missions to treat children with cleft lip and palate in South American countries and co-directs a bi-annual trip to Mexico. He has a long list of publications in major journals with a focus on cleft and craniofacial surgery and pathology. When he is not in the office, Dr. Perrino loves spending time at home in Tenafly, NJ, with his wife, two children, and their dog.
